Today marked Meghan’s first official engagement of 2019 and the exciting announcement that she is taking on four patronages, two of them passed on from the Queen. The Duchess of Sussex will become royal patron of London’s National Theatre, the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Mayhew, and Smart Works.

You can read the full statement and more about the organisations on the official Royal website.

The news was followed by a visit to Smart Works in London, where Meghan talked to volunteers and women who have been helped by the organisation.
