Meghan’s Adorable Childhood Banana Milkshake Recipe

Looking through Meghan’s old Instagram posts which, not going to lie, is a frequent occurrence these days, I came across a short and simple, but yummy recipe for banana milkshake à la Meg, concocted and written by her when she was just a young child. Meghan posted the cute memory, found by her mum Doria, to her Instagram account in early 2015.

One of the first recipes I ever wrote. Thanks to my mom for finding this. #tiglife #bannanans #milkshake

Meg’s recipe consists of half a banana (or bannanans, as she adorably spelled it at the time), 1/8 cup of jam, 1/4 cup of yogurt and 1/3 cup of ice cream. For the purpose of illustrating her childhood recipe, we thought it would be fun to create a TIG style recipe board (who else misses those?).

Although the recipe doesn’t specify, and you can use whatever ingredients and flavours your little heart desires, I imagine that if Meghan was to create this treat for herself today – and whilst living in her new home here in the UK – she would use organic bananas, vegan yogurt and vanilla ice cream (FTW), and some organic strawberry jam from Waitrose‘s aptly titled ‘Duchy’ range.

If you want to enjoy a milkshake à la Meg on a hot summer’s day (like today’s 31° weather in London – halp!), try adding blended ice chips to the mix for extra crunch and keeping cool.

Go bannanans!
